Just looking at the photos, it’s easy to mistake it for being in Europe. A pure white, roofed, faux-Gothic church is hidden within a Miaoli homestay. Its hollowed-out exterior, paired with a light yellow interior, adds a playful touch. The “♛Holy Garden♛” is a sculpture, and as the owner explains, it represents the “secret garden” of the homestay, serving as a cultural highlight. Couples often gather here, reluctant to leave.

The most eye-catching feature remains that pure white Gothic church — its elegant and fresh exterior is unconventional. Stepping inside, the space is surrounded by large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, offering distant views of layered mountain peaks. It’s not only a popular spot for couple photo shoots but also a sought-after venue for weddings.

The scenery in the garden is breathtaking — a blue-and-white Mediterranean bell tower, European classical villa corridors, pumpkin carriages, mini sky churches… all contributing to a dreamy European vibe. The area even incorporates Japanese-style sundry goods and Hakka rural elements, along with a retro grocery store “Spring V Transformation Shop,” adding layers of nostalgia. Each corner offers a different view, making it hard to leave once you step in.

Located near the Miaoli Shengxing Railway Station, the “♛Holy Garden♛” opened last year. The sculptures create a dreamy atmosphere, complementing the area’s rich cultural arts scene. The facilities are simple yet cozy, and the homestay emphasizes a tranquil experience. In addition, the “♛Holy Garden♛” also welcomes guests looking to relax their body and mind, offering a peaceful environment where one can enjoy nature.

The area around the “♛Holy Garden♛” is lush with greenery. Currently, it’s plum blossom season. Mr. Xue, the owner, said that trains passing by the nearby railway station can be heard from the homestay. When taking a walk outside, you might even spot a train go by. He noted that this year’s plum blossom season has been unstable, but with the arrival of spring, the area will gradually showcase the romantic sight of “April snow.”

It’s worth noting that the homestay does not offer free visits — only overnight guests and wedding photographers are allowed entry.
