The Netherlands' tulip seas have a limited-time new flower-viewing hotspot in Taiwan too

When it comes to tulips, one thinks of the Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands, where the vast expanse of lawns is filled with a stunning sea of vibrant tulips that captivate and enchant. Now, you don’t need to fly all the way to the Netherlands—Taiwan also has its own tulip fields to admire. Not only can everyone enjoy the colorful blooms, but free entry also allows for unlimited photo-taking, check-ins, and sharing.

Taipei’s Shilin Official Residence will hold the “2018 Shilin Official Residence Tulip Exhibition – Blooming with the Netherlands” from February 13 to February 28 in the Western-style Garden Area. The exhibition will feature nearly 20 unique varieties of tulips and hyacinths in various colors and shapes, combined with Dutch rural elements such as windmills and wooden shoes, transforming the Shilin Official Residence into a Taiwanese version of Keukenhof Gardens and creating a limited-time, colorful, and romantic tulip sea.

Before the official exhibition begins, the Taipei City Parks Department has specially set up mini exhibition areas around the Taipei City Hall, such as near the North Gate, to warm up for the main tulip show. It has also been revealed that the official exhibition is expected to feature a variety of colors including red, white, purple, pink, and yellow, along with eye-catching bi-color varieties, which are highly anticipated. Additionally, although the “2018 Shilin Official Residence Tulip Exhibition – Blooming with the Netherlands” will only last two weeks, it offers visitors the chance to capture the tulip sea for free without an admission fee. Flower-loving tourists should seize the opportunity to witness this limited-time floral spectacle.
