Wanglaoji is now available in Taiwan too！The century-old popular herbal tea brand opens its first overseas store in Taipei

The canned beverage Wanglaoji, a popular herbal tea brand in China, was established during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (around 1828) and boasts a history of over a hundred years. It has now expanded to Taiwan with the launch of a “Herbal Tea Shop,” moving away from the traditional image of canned drinks and adopting a physical store concept. Located at Taipei’s Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A11 in Xinyi District, it has also become the world’s first “Wanglaoji Physical Herbal Tea Shop.”

Although it’s a century-old herbal tea shop, the physical store is decorated as if draped in a fashionable and vibrant outfit. With a striking blue base, complemented by the iconic gourd-shaped beverage bottles and a flower wall perfect for photos, it offers a refreshing departure from tradition.

In addition to using traditional herbal tea formulas, the Wanglaoji Herbal Tea Shop also incorporates locally sourced Taiwanese teas to create a uniquely balanced and distinctive herbal tea flavor. To prevent the prepared herbal tea from being exposed to air and affecting its aroma, specially made tea pillars have been customized to ensure the best quality. Aside from the classic traditional herbal tea, there’s also a “milk tea” variant that includes fresh milk. Customers can choose based on their taste preferences and enjoy a different flavor from the usual bubble tea.
