A new 3D painting hotspot in Yunlin rivaling the fairy-tale scenes of Jimmy Liao’s picture books

In recent years, the trend of 3D paintings has taken off, with various themed painted installations popping up all over Taiwan. Unlike these painted walls, a small village in Xiluo, Yunlin, offers something different. The Xiluo Pitu Community has collaborated with local artists to create a "3D picture book park," bringing scenes from picture books to life within the park and turning it into a new attraction in Yunlin. Though it may not be as famous as Jimmy Liao Park, its playful installations and colorful murals are still highly eye-catching.

The story behind the "3D Picture Book Park" is based on the picture book *A Long, Long Time Ago, There Was a Courtyard House*, created by Ma Ha, a local Xiluo artist and picture book illustrator. Characters, whales, watermelons, and more from the book have been enlarged and installed throughout the park, making visitors feel as if they’ve stepped into a fairy tale. Located next to the Xiluo Interchange of National Freeway No. 1, the park offers easy parking and attracts many visitors on weekends who come to take photos and explore.
