Korean star Jun Ji-hyun once visited the restaurant not only to try the classic braised pork rice but also fell in love with other Taiwanese dishes, including the combo platter, traditional seafood hotpot, dried shrimp stir-fried cabbage, squid with black bean sauce, sakura shrimp fried rice, shredded chicken, pan-fried tilefish, pan-fried Chinese chive omelet, Dalai Xiaoguan’s braised pork belly, crispy squid rolls, grilled cuttlefish roe, stir-fried rice noodles, grilled squid rolls, braised pork rice, and stewed Buddha Jumps Over the Wall.

Established in 1986, Dalai Xiaoguan has been serving delicious food in the Yongkang Street food district—known as a food paradise—for 30 years. It has won multiple awards, including the International Judges’ Championship, the Most Popular Award, and the Deliciousness Award at the 9th Taipei Braised Pork Rice Competition. Its tender and aromatic flavors are so beloved that some foodies have been known to eat four or five bowls in one sitting.
