MUJI’s East Asia Staff Selection Exhibition Features Naoto Fukasawa’s Only Taiwan Lecture

This time, departing from previous formats, MUJI chose to host the “My Found MUJI East Asia” exhibition at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, the first collaborative project involving staff from four East Asian countries—Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Together, they selected traditional items representative of their respective regions, which were then chosen by MUJI design advisor Mr. Naoto Fukasawa as the representative products of “My Found MUJI East Asia.”

MUJI first introduced the “Found MUJI” project in 2003, aiming to re-examine traditional everyday items from around the world through a process of “searching and discovering,” uncovering their true value that may have been forgotten or overlooked. By preserving their essence and refining them, these items can be integrated into modern life. Through MUJI’s recommendations, more people can learn about the lives and items from different regions.

The “My Found MUJI East Asia” themed exhibition will run from December 1st to December 10th. On December 2nd, Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa will be the sole lecturer for a special lecture in Taiwan, discussing not only the selection process of “My Found MUJI East Asia” but also sharing insights on the meaning of life and design, as well as objects and cultural heritage.
