Ichiran Ramen, a must-try for many travelers to Japan, is set to open its first Taiwan store in June. Can’t wait? The instant version (also known as cup noodles or instant packs) of “Ichiran Ramen (Special Edition Packaging)” is now available in Kaohsiung and Taipei. It will be sold from April 14 to 16 at Dream Mall B1 in Kaohsiung, and from April 21 to 23 at Taipei Xinyi Breeze B1, with tastings available on-site.

The noodles in “Ichiran Ramen (Special Edition Packaging)” look similar to instant noodles, but they cannot be soaked—they must be boiled in rolling water for 2 minutes 30 seconds to 3 minutes 30 seconds. Then add the soup base and flavoring oil packets, and finally sprinkle on the signature red spicy powder according to your taste. There’s also “Ichiran Tonkotsu Ramen (Straight Noodles),” made with high-quality wheat flour, featuring straight noodles and the same cooking process.

To let everyone enjoy Ichiran Ramen at home, the initial idea came when Ichiran Ramen Representative Director and President Yoshikazu Tanaka visited Taiwan and realized many customers wanted to try it. He thought that if possible, they should create something that could deliver an authentic experience. This led to the development of the richly flavored and perfectly matched “Ichiran Ramen (Special Edition Packaging).” It was specially created so customers could enjoy the flavors of Fukuoka’s Ichiran Ramen at home, with a taste deliberately differentiated from the restaurant version to offer a refreshing new experience.  

Ichiran’s “signature red spicy powder” isn’t just a single flavor. Based on chili peppers, Ichiran combines various spices to create this original, delicious red spicy powder, giving the Ichiran Tonkotsu Ramen a complex and layered taste that spreads in your mouth.
