Angels truly descend at the world’s most magical Christmas light switch-on

As Christmas approaches, cities around the world are gradually donning festive decorations and turning on their holiday lights. In Europe, in addition to the colorful Christmas markets in various countries, the famous shopping street “Regent Street” in London, UK, is renowned for its magical and vibrant Christmas lights. The Regent Street Christmas lights switch-on, which has been held since 1954, is one of the largest Christmas light displays in London, with its most eye-catching feature being rows of angel-shaped lights suspended high above the street.

This year’s theme is the Spirit of Christmas, with a grand Christmas parade and the decoration of Regent Street taking place. More than 300,000 LED lights have been used to create 16 angel designs, watching over the skies above Regent Street. The lights were officially switched on with a grand event on November 16, covering areas from Regent Street, St. James’s, Piccadilly, Oxford Circus to Waterloo Place, kicking off the festive glow in central London.
