Singapore’s business district is filled with towering skyscrapers, and looking up, you’ll see nothing but a sea of upward-reaching construction projects. Yet among them stands one truly unique building—its red lattice façade is largely covered in plants, resembling a green architecture that seems to have emerged from another world. This is the Oasia Hotel, created by WOHA Architects. Conceived as “a different kind of commercial building,” it features a lush expanse of greenery integrated within its saturated orange-red metal latticework. It breaks away from the cold, impersonal image of typical high-rises and has successfully attracted many visitors.

WOHA refers to the building as a “living wall.” Not only does it feature a distinctive exterior, but it also creates a visual buffer zone, introducing a different kind of scenery to the otherwise uniform skyline of malls and skyscrapers in the business district. The architectural design utilizes stacking and interlayer techniques to interweave office spaces, hotel rooms, and sky gardens. Its open design enhances overall ventilation, effectively bringing in natural light and air into the daily lives of both guests and office workers, creating a comfortable green space.

The building has 27 floors, where guests can dine at on-site restaurants or enjoy drinks at the bar. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, terraces, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, and free parking.
