Temperatures will drop during the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day holiday, with localized brief showers in some areas

Last updated 2026-09-25 — Affected by the northeastern monsoon, temperatures across Taiwan will drop noticeably starting from the 29th. There will be rain in the northeastern region, and localized brief showers in the eastern, southeastern, and northern regions. There is also a chance of heavier localized rainfall in the northeast and east, while the central and southern mountainous areas may experience scattered brief showers. Other areas, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will see mostly cloudy to sunny skies.
