Photography has become one of the most important aspects of travel. To take great photos, in addition to personal features and beautiful backdrops, the angle and technique of shooting are also crucial. Making both male and female subjects appear tall and slim is a key concern for many people. Below are five photography tips that everyone can learn to make the subjects in their photos look taller and slimmer.

1. Photo bottom close to the feet
To make the legs appear longer, there should only be a small gap between the subject’s feet and the bottom of the frame. This creates an elongating effect. Additionally, don’t leave too much empty space above the subject—ensure they appear taller compared to the scenery and the overall frame.
2. Toes pointing toward the lens
Besides placing the feet near the bottom of the frame, having the subject’s toes extend toward the lens enhances the illusion of long legs. Coupled with the right camera angle, the effect can be even more striking. Position the camera around the belly button level or shoot from a slightly elevated angle for the best results.

3. Shooting at an angle
Applying the above poses and angles to the diagonal section of the photo frame and shooting from a slightly upward angle can maximize the appearance of the subject’s leg length and height.

4. Sitting pose photography
The sitting pose can also use the aforementioned techniques and angles. By extending or crossing the legs, the subject can appear to have long legs and a slender figure, even while seated.

5. Crossed legs, one knee bent
In addition to the elongating poses mentioned earlier, crossing the legs or bending one knee can beautifully showcase long, attractive legs, and also create the illusion of being 5 to 10 cm taller.
