A Hidden Gem of a Café in Tainan: Enjoy a Breathtaking Sunset on a Transparent Glass Skywalk

174 Wings Riders’ Station (174 Cafe) is a popular Instagram hotspot and an exclusive reservation-only attraction. You must book in advance via Facebook to gain entry. The biker-loving owner has installed a transparent glass skywalk where you can take in the sweeping mountain views. Hu Li booked a slot at 5 PM and just caught the soft hues of the setting sun. On clearer days, the view is even more stunning… You can also sip coffee while enjoying the breeze and a laid-back vibe.

▲174 Wings Riders’ Station is located at the 45.8 km mark on County Highway 174. You can find it directly by entering the address into Google Maps. There are many curves on the road, so drive carefully.

▲Both motorcycles and cars can be parked inside the station. If it’s full, park along the roadside.

▲The ordering and payment counter at 174 Cafe. The station operates on a fully self-service dining system—you need to order, pick up, and return your tray yourself. The minimum spend per person is NT$100, and there is no service charge.

▲The second-floor observation deck offers an even better view, though it can be windier. The entire beautiful landscape unfolds before your eyes, making you feel like life is pretty wonderful at this moment (laughs).

▲Only four people are allowed on the glass skywalk at a time. Please line up accordingly. Each group gets 5 minutes for photos—if you exceed the time, you’ll have to queue again. Be a good visitor and follow the rules so everyone can enjoy taking great photos.

▲Walking on the glass skywalk can make your legs a bit shaky. Sara didn’t dare look down the whole time, quickly walked to a spot, took her photo, and came back (blushes).

▲It’s recommended to plan your photo poses beforehand so you can snap great shots more quickly (voice of someone with a fear of heights).

▲Xiao Hu exudes total confidence and fearlessness, standing right at the front of the skywalk, gazing at the endless mountain scenery—it feels incredibly blissful.

Hu Li originally wanted to try the hot pot, but it was sold out due to limited availability. This dish has a stronger savory flavor, with the cheesy Q grilled elements offering a rich milky aroma.
