Just 2 days to go!“Penghu Maritime Fireworks Festival” kicks off on the 20th — 3 key traffic control measures to note

The “2017 Penghu International Maritime Fireworks Festival” will officially begin on April 20 and continue through June 22, featuring a total of 22 shows, 16 of which will be held at Guanyin Pavilion. To ensure smooth traffic, the Magong Police Precinct has recently announced the traffic control schedule, affected road sections, and parking arrangements, reminding visitors to stay informed.

The 16 fireworks shows at Guanyin Pavilion will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on April 20, 24, and 27, May 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 22, and 29, and June 1, 8, 15, 19, and 22. The traffic control measures are divided into three main parts:

(1) Pedestrian zone: Vehicle access is prohibited in the Guanyin Pavilion area, the side entrance road of the National Penghu Marine & Fishery Vocational High School, Minsheng Road (from Minzu Intersection to Jieshou Intersection), and Jieshou Road (from Minzu Intersection to the entrance of Guanyin Pavilion).

(2) Motorcycle parking: Parking is available at the lot next to the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation, the police station plaza (temporary parking), the south side of Jieshou Road (between the bicycle path in front of Guanyin Pavilion and Zhongzheng Hall), as well as the sidewalks along Minzu Road, Shude Road, Zhiping Road, and Mingyuan Road.

(3) Car parking: Underground parking lots (Zhongzheng Elementary School, County Government, and Wenguang Junior High School offer free parking from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM), parking spaces on the County Government Plaza and surrounding roads, Mingyuan Road Parking Lot, Magong Commercial Port Parking Lot, and both sides of Minzu Road (from Jingguang Clubhouse to the south and Ren’ai Intersection to the north).

Additionally, due to the preparatory work required by the fireworks vendors, the Xiying Rainbow Bridge and its surrounding areas will be closed to the public on the day of the event or the day before to prevent accidents. On the actual fireworks nights, there will also be access restrictions at three control points: North Dike of Yinting Park (the second pavilion on the Guanyin Pavilion Seawall Promenade), the entrance of the Qingshui Park Parking Lot, and South Dike of Yinting Park (in front of the Senior Citizens Activity Center). These areas will be off-limits to the public from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on event days.
