Over a hundred aircraft models on display at Pingtung Victory Cultural and Creative Park — a dream factory of flight has taken shape

Aircraft not in the sky but on the ground — Pingtung Victory Cultural and Creative Park’s General’s House is now hosting“Dream Factory of Flight: Jiang Jingye’s Aircraft Collection Exhibition”, featuring over 100 static model airplanes and 8 flyable dynamic models from violinist Jiang Jingye’s personal collection, offering visitors a glimpse into the performer’s inner world of aviation dreams.

Describing himself as suffering from“aircraft OCD,”Jiang Jingye said he has been fascinated by airplanes and warships since childhood. Sometimes he would collect multiple versions of a favorite aircraft, and to understand the stories behind them, he purchased books and magazines in Chinese, English, and Japanese, earning him the reputation of being a living encyclopedia of military model collecting in Taiwan.

▲ The exhibition mainly features aircraft and warship models primarily from the World War II era. Jiang Jingye said that although his initial collection wasn’t limited to any specific category, he eventually found himself most drawn to planes from WWII.

Wu Jinfang, head of Pingtung’s Cultural Affairs Bureau, said that Teacher Jiang Jingye is a man of many talents — not only is he the principal violinist of a symphony orchestra and an aerial photography expert of historic sites and scenic landscapes, but he also has in-depth knowledge of military models. In addition to the static exhibition, there will also be live flying demonstrations and lectures. Everyone is welcome to come and exchange ideas.
