Nagoya’s “Chubu Centrair Airport” Capsule Hotel Now Open – Sleep Starting from Just ¥300

There’s now a capsule hotel at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Japan too. To accommodate passengers on red-eye flights who need rest or accommodation, the 24-hour-use capsule hotel “TUBE Sq” has opened on the first floor of the passenger terminal building. For just ¥800 (about NT$300), you can enter to rest.

“TUBE Sq” has a total of 138 capsule rooms, including 84 for men and 54 for women. It not only provides a comfortable sleeping and showering environment but also offers digital manga books by Osamu Tezuka in three languages—Chinese, English, and Japanese—for guests to read. The cost is ¥5,184 per bed per night, or ¥1,080 per hour for resting.

Chubu Centrair International Airport welcomed over 10.96 million passengers last year, marking a 5% increase compared to the same period in 2015. Considering the growing number of low-cost airline flights, the capsule hotel has been introduced to offer comfortable rest for passengers arriving late at night or early in the morning. Future guests who book a stay will check in at 6:00 PM and check out at 10:00 AM.
