The 129th Rose Parade in the United States took place on January 1 local time in Pasadena, California. China Airlines has participated for 32 consecutive years, and this year unveiled a “Caring for Our Sea” themed float. Designed around the rich marine ecosystem and diving activities, the float emphasized ocean conservation awareness and encouraged travelers from around the world to explore Taiwan’s vibrant underwater world. It won the top award once again.
According to China Airlines, the design concept of this year’s float centers around a diver freely exploring Taiwan’s seas, surrounded by green sea turtles, clown triggerfish, clown anemonefish, and colorful corals and seaweed. Young performers dressed as beach cleaners also interacted with the audience, integrated into the overall float design. Through the ever-changing and vivid underwater scenery, the float symbolized Taiwan’s remarkable achievements in environmental conservation, attracting attention and applause.
China Airlines noted that clean and beautiful oceans represent Taiwan’s efforts and progress in nature conservation and environmental protection. The airline holds volunteer beach cleanup activities every year as a tangible way to give back to society and promote corporate sustainability. This dedication to the marine environment echoes this year’s parade theme, “Make a Difference,” which celebrates those who selflessly contribute without seeking recognition.
Since first participating in the Rose Parade in 1987, China Airlines has never missed a single event. Each year, the airline strives for innovation in its float design. This year marks its 32nd participation in the parade and it is the only airline to have won an award.
