Rugged and minimalist, the Woolloomooloo Xinyi branch has an interior that resembles a warehouse, making it a highly designed, industrial-style restaurant. Woolloomooloo was originally the name of a harbor area near Sydney, Australia, where many naval forces were stationed and numerous warehouses stood. These became memories for the owner of Woolloomooloo, which later brought its presence to the streets of Taipei.

Woolloomooloo originally started by selling coffee. Australians don’t like weak coffee and generally follow traditional brewing ratios, using less milk but allowing the aroma of the coffee to shine through. The coffee beans used in the shop were personally sought out by the owner in Australia, eventually found in a small café. After tasting them, he decided to import them to Taiwan, so these beans literally flew here. Though shipping costs were high, the owner said it was all worth it. As a result, many people come specifically for Woolloomooloo’s coffee, and some foreign customers even concluded about their small glass cups of coffee: “This is what real coffee tastes like.”
Additionally, what Woolloomooloo is most praised for is its warehouse-like space design. The tables and chairs in the shop have simple lines, resembling shelves and goods in a warehouse. For example, the extra-long solid wood dining table looks like a large studio table, while the sofa assembled from steel frames, solid wood, and burlap sacks resembles cargo waiting to be shipped (the burlap sack design was inspired by Australian wool cargo). The coffee cups are drilled and fitted with halogen lights to become dazzling hanging lamps, and so on. Interestingly, some tables and chairs have wheels and can be freely assembled and rearranged, allowing guests to sit more casually. All of this furniture was personally designed by the owner, and the burlap sacks were even hand-sewn and stuffed with cotton by the staff—everything has a DIY feel.

The second floor of Woolloomooloo is very spacious and especially family-friendly. The owner thoughtfully provides many toys and colorful little chairs, ensuring children will never get bored here, so parents can enjoy coffee and food without worry. The terrace outside the second floor is surprisingly large, with its edges covered in silver metal material, lined with linen tablecloths, and adorned with wooden crates, creating alternative-style dining tables. Dining here allows you to enjoy the food while overlooking the street view of Xinyi Road. The terrace also has many herbs planted, creating a very relaxing atmosphere.
For brunch, the classic Morning Dew Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, and French toast are all popular. Additionally, all the bread in the shop is handmade, fermented with natural yeast, contains not a drop of oil, and is very health-oriented, emphasizing the texture of the original ingredients. Another popular dish is the Greek salad, a light Mediterranean-style meal featuring crisp cucumbers, bright red tomatoes, colorful bell peppers, and purple Greek black olives, all vibrant in color. It also includes premium Feta cheese, drizzled with a sauce made from aromatic olive oil, pepper, salt, and freshly squeezed lemon juice for seasoning. The method is natural and healthy. The slightly bitter purple Greek black olives have a strong flavor, making the entire salad even more distinctive—as if you’re sitting right by the blue Mediterranean Sea, under a sky so blue it feels Greek.

Must Try
French Toast
Good French toast is made using bread left over from the previous night because the moisture has evaporated, resulting in a chewier texture. The French toast here is made with the shop’s homemade sourdough bread. First, a sauce is made by blending butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg mixture, which is evenly coated onto the sourdough before being slowly pan-fried over low heat. The result is a texture that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, sweet and fragrant, with endless flavor.

Morning Dew Classic Brunch
An energetic brunch dish—the scrambled eggs are made with premium butter, leading many customers to think cheese is added. Onion-mushroom stir-fry is enhanced with butter, lifting the dish’s flavor, and is carefully simmered until caramelized, bringing out the aroma of the mushrooms. The homemade French batard bread is slightly tangy with a rustic wheat aroma, topped with sliced avocado that can be spread on the bread like butter, creating an absolutely delightful flavor.
