People in Taoyuan are in for a treat—five new restaurants have recently opened

Recently, people in Taoyuan have been enjoying more gourmet options. In the past, many international or large-scale restaurants were concentrated in Taipei or Taichung, but businesses are gradually expanding into Taoyuan. In April alone, five new restaurants opened, with the latest being Sarabeth’s Taoyuan No. 1 Store, known as the “Queen of Breakfast,” which debuted on April 27.

Sarabeth’s, known as the Queen of Breakfast in New York, has confirmed that its second Taiwan branch will open at SOGO Zhongli, giving Taoyuan residents a taste of the breakfast queen’s charm. Founder Sarabeth Levine has even created a new dessert, the “berry muffin,” exclusively for the Zhongli SOGO location. Starting April 27, you can enjoy the sweet combination of strawberries and pancakes.

Golden Three Malt
Golden Three Malt, known for its craft beers and creative dishes, has been actively expanding across Taiwan. After entering Hsinchu at the end of 2016, it is now making its first foray into the greater Taoyuan area. Its Zhongli SOGO branch will officially open on April 27, offering special promotions such as “spend NT$100, get NT$100 back” with no cap during the opening period, and an unprecedented “free unlimited beer during designated hours.”

Samgyeopsal in Eight Flavors
The popular Korean dish “Samgyeopsal in Eight Flavors,” which debuted in mid-2015, is opening its second branch in Taoyuan City (Taoyuan District) on April 1. This Korean-style barbecue uses thick-cut pork belly, with its standout feature being eight different flavor variations: ginseng, red wine, pine needles, garlic, floral, curry, miso (bean paste), and chili sauce.

Huang Jihuang Sanzhi Men Guo
Comparable to Haidilao, Beijing-based Huang Jihuang Sanzhi Men Guo opened its first Taiwan branch on the 4th floor of ATT 4 FUN in Taipei’s Xinyi District. Its second branch, located in the ATT Kuaishihuo complex in Taoyuan’s railway station district, officially opened on March 25. This dish is adapted from the Qing Dynasty classic spicy fish, and is prepared without adding a single drop of water—earning it the nickname “hot pot without broth.” The bottom layer is lined with root vegetables, followed by customer-selected ingredients, then covered and slow-cooked to allow the flavors to meld. After about ten minutes, a secret sauce is poured over the ingredients and left to infuse.

Yattagyu
Japan’s largest pork cutlet chain, Yattagyu, officially entered the Taiwanese market in August 2015. It currently has four branches in the Greater Taipei area, and plans to open new locations at Linkou Global Mall and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in Taoyuan. The Shin Kong Mitsukoshi branch will be Yattagyu’s first outside the Greater Taipei area and its first in Taoyuan, with an expected opening on May 10.
