Where to stay for island travel? Taiwan’s Accommodation Network helps you filter first — breaking through the smoke and mirrors

To help travelers easily search for legal accommodations at all levels, and to promote its two major accommodation brands — “Star Hotels” and “Hospitable Homestays” — the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has specially integrated them into the “Taiwan Accommodation Network,” which will be promoted as the go-to portal for both domestic and international travelers seeking accommodation information in Taiwan.

Through a series of initiatives such as the “Accommodation Quality Enhancement Plan,” “Star Hotel Evaluation,” “Hospitable Homestay Selection,” and the “Star + Hospitable 1+1 Campaign,” the Tourism Bureau aims not only to encourage legal operators to further improve quality and value their brand image, but also to leverage a “user-friendly” design to make travelers more willing to use the platform online. In addition to directly searching for known accommodations, the public can also look for suitable lodging options in target travel areas based on criteria such as county/city, township, transportation requirements, and accommodation category.

Additionally, the Tourism Bureau also uses the launch of the Accommodation Network to remind the public to be aware of ten common pitfalls, including: flyer deception, internet deception, photo deception, video deception, discount deception, promotion deception, attraction deception, celebrity deception, meal deception, and package deal deception.

The Chinese version of the “Taiwan Accommodation Network” was launched this year, with English and Japanese versions to follow next year, allowing foreign travelers to quickly find suitable accommodation as well. The URL for the “Taiwan Accommodation Network” is:http://taiwanstay.net.tw.
