Jhushan Monster Village Celebrates Year-End to Flag-Raising – Nonstop Fun Day and Night

From the 2017 New Year’s Eve party to the 2018 New Year flag-raising, Jhushan Monster Village keeps the excitement going day and night. The evening includes lucky draws and fun activities, as well as the launch of eco-friendly sky lanterns for blessings. On New Year’s morning, the flag-raising ceremony and morning exercises create a unique forest atmosphere centered around eco-friendliness and a healthy, sunny vibe.

The Jhushan Monster Village New Year’s Eve party is held at “Peace Drum Square,” where the cool and cute characters Kuruma and Badou, along with the mischievous mountain monsters Asha and Blue, join the audience for group dancing. Since the village is located in the forest, its sky lanterns are not lit but instead use helium-filled balloons to float into the sky and are retrieved the next day—offering an energy-saving, zero-pollution celebration.

On New Year’s morning, the Monster Flag-Raising Ceremony is led by the village guardian, the Tengu, who raises the national flag and is joined by the mountain monsters Asha and Blue in beating drums to pray for blessings and welcome the new year, bringing good luck for the year ahead. Villagers and visitors joyfully join in morning exercises to embrace a healthy and energetic new year.
