Before 2017 came to an end, Starbucks launched several unique stores across Taiwan. Their modern and design-forward architecture and interiors have become new local travel landmarks. ETtoday Travel Cloud has handpicked the must-visit special Starbucks locations across Taiwan in 2018. Let the rich aroma of Starbucks coffee accompany you as you welcome the first day of the New Year or the first workday after the holidays！
1. Taipei 101
The “Starbucks Reserve Roastery Bar,” currently only found in 30 locations worldwide, also made its debut in Taiwan at the end of 2017. Taiwan’s very first branch is located inside Taipei 101. It features a dark-toned interior with a high-end nightlife style and fashion sensibility, and is equipped with a full range of premium coffee tools. It offers various brewing methods such as siphon, pour-over, and French press, each highlighting the distinct characteristics of black coffee. The store showcases the world’s highest quality and limited-edition Starbucks Reserve coffee beans, allowing customers to enjoy a more premium Starbucks coffee experience.

2. Taipei City — Tianyu Branch
Located in Taipei’s Tamsui district, the “Tianyu Branch” is currently one of the most talked-about Starbucks locations. In addition to offering pour-over coffee, the store also features “Starbucks Evenings,” serving craft beer. The space itself boasts what is touted as the most beautiful outdoor seating area in Taiwan. Housed in a standalone two-story European-style building shaded by trees, it creates an elegant and tranquil atmosphere that feels like a European estate. Ever since its opening, it has become a hotspot for photos and also marks Starbucks’ return to Tamsui.
3. Taichung — Daying Branch
Following Taipei 101, the Daying Branch in Taichung is the second “Starbucks Reserve Roastery Bar” location in Taiwan. In addition to coffee, the store also offers “Starbucks Evenings,” giving central Taiwan residents the chance to enjoy both coffee and beer. The Daying Branch is also the only Starbucks in central and southern Taiwan that combines a café and a wine bar.

4. Chiayi — Minxiong Branch
The Starbucks Minxiong Branch, which became a photo hotspot in Chiayi upon opening in 2017, is Taiwan’s 10th Starbucks Drive-Thru location. The most eye-catching feature of the Minxiong Branch is its architecture, which resembles a European church. Its blend of classical and contemporary design inside and out has made it a popular spot for social media photos and it is also listed as one of “Taiwan’s most beautiful Starbucks.”

5. Matsu — Nangan Branch
Also officially opened at the end of 2017, the Matsu Nangan Branch is the northernmost Starbucks in Taiwan. The store incorporates elements of Matsu’s local character, blending architectural designs inspired by traditional eastern Fujian stone houses and cultural features such as locally made bamboo sun-drying sieves. Inside, the space features open-concept designs, with lights representing the famous blue tears hanging above the counter. The decor also includes scale-like patterns reminiscent of Starbucks goddess imagery, making it a new hotspot for local photos.
To cope with the region’s cold winter temperatures, the branch is equipped with heating, making it the only Starbucks in Taiwan with indoor heating.
