The Hong Kong WinterFest has begun, with the city illuminated by brilliant Christmas decorations that create a festive atmosphere. Disneyland and Ocean Park have introduced limited-time holiday activities, while iconic locations such as Queen’s Pier in Central, Harbour City, 1881 Heritage, Times Square, and Lan Kwai Fong are offering special holiday programs. Even the well-known narrator Sheng Zhuru has joined forces with the popular internet star A Xi to film "The Roast Goose Couple" in Hong Kong, guiding travelers into the heart of the city’s colorful winter festivities.

"The world is full of emotion, yet human life is unpredictable—fate is like a roast goose awaiting the butcher's knife!" The video opens with Sheng Zhuru standing in front of a roast goose shop, purchasing a goose, leading into a quirky romantic journey across Hong Kong based entirely on "eating roast goose." Internet celebrity A Xi and her boyfriend travel to Hong Kong, but due to their differing compatibility levels, "they plant the seeds of love, hate, affection, and rivalry." Through the attractions they visit in the film, viewers can feel the festive vibrancy of Hong Kong.

This Facebook interactive app, "Compatibility Index: You, Me, and Everyone," created by the Hong Kong Tourism Board for the "Hong Kong WinterFest," allows users to play games to explore popular winter destinations in advance, discover who their most compatible travel partner is, and enjoy classic travel quotes from veteran narrator Sheng Zhuru. Examples include: "Don’t fall in love just because you’re lonely, and don’t confess when you’re dizzy" (at the Tiffany Christmas carousel in Central) and "What is love in this world? Staying sober is the only way home" (at a Lan Kwai Fong bar). These are highly entertaining, and the compatibility scores you uncover with friends often come as a shock.

This year’s Hong Kong WinterFest officially begins today and runs until January 1, 2013, delivering a romantic experience filled with stunning Christmas lights and festive cheer. Starting in December, major shopping malls across the city are launching discounts and restaurants are offering special Christmas deals. Travelers are advised to experience the festivities before the New Year holidays.
