The Tourism Bureau recently hosted the themed photo contests "Travel Taiwan: The Most Beautiful Moment" and "Travel Taiwan: A Touching Moment Every Day," inviting the public to submit moving and inspiring photos. Through vibrant images, the contests aimed to capture the beauty of Taiwan. Among them, the photo of Qigu o_Lake, which received the highest number of votes, depicted overlapping golden and blue sea surfaces. Many netizens couldn't help but exclaim, "It's instantly touching—truly beautiful."

Frozen snow crystals on Hehuanshan Mountain, the reflection of Taipei 101 in water, and the genuine expressions on the faces of Indigenous people—all are powerful symbols of "the beauty of Taiwan." The photo contests "Travel Taiwan: The Most Beautiful Moment" and "Travel Taiwan: A Touching Moment Every Day" received over 22,000 submissions during the campaign period, with photographer Chen Canghai winning the Popular Lens Award, having garnered the most online votes.

Mr. Chen, a native of Tainan, won with his submission featuring his hometown, Qigu o_Lake. In addition to expressing his love for his birthplace, his work also reflects a commitment to documenting cultural values. He said, "I've been photographing Qigu o_Lake for nearly five years and have witnessed how the environment is changing. I’ve used my photos to record it all." The golden light spreading across the sky intertwines with the blue ocean, creating a harmonious and beautiful scene. The beauty of Taiwan is fully revealed through the lens.

To establish Taiwan as the tourism heart of Asia—"The Heart of Asia: Essence of Asia, Heart of Taiwan"—the special photo contest "Travel Taiwan: Touching Moments" was organized. It featured visual works such as an Indigenous wedding of the Paiwan tribe in Pingtung, cherry blossoms blooming in spring on Alishan, the tranquil morning lake surface of Sun Moon Lake, silhouettes of hikers on the challenging Mabolasih Crater Trail among Taiwan’s hundred peaks, and a three-hectare persimmon orchard in a Hakka village. These outstanding works are displayed in a waterfall-style layout on the campaign website.
