1. Muxiang Charcoal Toast
Taiwanese taro sandwiched into hot toast, paired with soft, silky egg and a layer of peanut butter—the sweet and salty flavor is quite unique. Located in Taichung, Muxiang Charcoal Toast started with steak cheese egg toast and launched the “Taro Sherbet Cheese Egg” in October 2017 for NT$45. Its purple swirls went viral on Instagram.

2. Cat Toast Burgers Specialty Store
Bright red, plump strawberries—just looking at them makes your mouth water. Tainan’s Cat Toast Burgers, loved by students for its affordable hot-pressed toast, launched new Strawberry Daifuku Toast and Strawberry Sandwiches starting December 8, 2017. The Strawberry Sandwich features three plump strawberries carefully selected and placed between thick slices of toast. The sweet and tangy fruit emits a rich aroma, topped with a lightly sweet, cool custard sauce—for NT$85.

3. Quick & Slow Miss
Kaohsiung’s Quick & Slow Miss opened in October 2017, centering around “matcha” and developing up to 17 special flavors and 14 types of fillings, with both crusts and fillings customizable. There are crusts made from natural ingredients like dragon fruit, pumpkin, almonds, and tomatoes, with limited daily availability and varying flavors, priced starting at NT$45.
