Good news for those planning an overseas getaway: Japan’s first low-cost airline, Peach Aviation, announced yesterday (21st) that it will launch new domestic routes to cities such as Sendai and Ishigaki, while also adding an international route between Osaka and Busan. Taiwanese travelers looking to go abroad in the future can cleverly utilize these budget flights via connecting flights to embark on an affordable “stopover journey,” visiting multiple scenic spots in a single trip.

Traveling to South Korea, Japan, and Okinawa in a single overseas trip will no longer be difficult—thanks to low-cost airlines, it can be easily achieved. Take Peach Aviation as an example: as long as you don’t mind paying extra for checked luggage and the absence of in-flight meal services, travelers can first purchase a ticket from Taipei to Osaka. By following the principle of using Osaka as a hub to radiate out and explore various parts of Japan, they can take advantage of discounted flights to destinations such as Hokkaido, Sendai, and Fukuoka. With knowledge of Japan’s domestic transportation connections, travelers can effortlessly hop between budget flights for a comprehensive trip across Japan.

As Peach Aviation expands its domestic routes, new Japanese domestic routes will be launched, including the Osaka (Kansai)–Sendai route on April 12, the Osaka (Kansai)–New Ishigaki route on June 14, and the Okinawa (Naha)–New Ishigaki route on September 13. Internationally, the airline also plans to add a new Osaka (Kansai)–Busan (South Korea) route this year (2013) in September, offering travelers even more choices and convenience.

In the future, Peach Aviation’s route network is expected to grow to include 8 domestic routes in Japan and 4 international routes. Additionally, the airline will increase its fleet from the current 6 aircraft to 10 to accommodate the increased flight volume. It is estimated that the number of aircraft will reach 17 by the second half of 2015.
