When people first see Tian Yimin on stage as a “professional traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner,” they’re often stunned: “How can such a young and beautiful woman be a professional TCM doctor?” In fact, Tian Yimin, who looks under 25, is already 34 years old and the director of a TCM fashion clinic. Known privately as the “Fashion TCM Guru,” she has not only successfully crafted a modern, fashion-forward image for TCM practitioners but also personally practices beauty therapy through food. Her daily preparation of bird’s nest is the biggest secret to becoming a “beauty wizard.”

▲ Tian Yimin is not just a stylish-looking TCM doctor, but also an ageless “beauty wizard.”
Just how effective is bird’s nest for health? A local hotel chain launched a premium bird’s nest gift set, and Tian Yimin attended the press event to share her long-term experience consuming it. She had once suffered from skin issues, including frequent peeling, and after trying various treatments, she developed her own food-based therapy. No matter how tired she was after work, Tian Yimin would make bird’s nest herself to nourish her skin. Within two months of drinking it, her skin problems completely disappeared, and she looked completely renewed.

During a casual chat with Dr. Tian Yimin, reporters couldn’t resist asking to touch the face of the “Fashion TCM Guru” to test just how amazing the effects of bird’s nest were. The result was truly astonishing—the skin was as smooth as porcelain. Tian Yimin explained: “For women, bird’s nest contains epidermal growth factors and water-soluble protein substances that can stimulate cell division and regeneration, tissue repair, thus helping women maintain radiant skin and a healthy complexion. For men, it can nourish and strengthen the body.”
As for how to distinguish authentic bottled bird’s nest from fake ones on the market, Tian Yimin said: “You can carefully examine the texture of the bird’s nest inside the bottle—if it’s transparent, intact, and you can see the strands, plus there are some tiny downy feathers inside, then you can tell it’s real bird’s nest.”

▲ If the bird’s nest inside the bottle has high transparency and integrity, along with a small amount of downy fuzz, it can be identified as genuine.
For those who find unscented bird’s nest unappetizing, the Ambassador Hotel has also introduced three classic bird’s nest wellness desserts, allowing fans of Ambassador Hotel’s bird’s nest to enjoy its benefits at home with ease. The first dessert is “Bird’s Nest Stewed with Fresh Milk,” where bird’s nest is slow-steamed with egg whites, fresh milk, sugar, and ginger juice, resulting in a smooth and sweet yet not overly rich wellness treat. The second is “Red Dates and Lotus Seed Stewed with Bird’s Nest,” combining the qi-tonifying effects of red dates and the fire-reducing properties of lotus seeds, slow-steamed to create a sweet, heart- and stomach-warming dish. The third is “Apricot Juice Stewed with Bird’s Nest,” where almond particles are ground with water and combined with bird’s nest and fine sugar for a fragrant delight.
