New Twin Towers by Showtime Plaza Opens in Taichung – A Crystal-Church-Like Building That’s Perfect for Photos

Cinemas are becoming more diverse—not just retail spaces, but now there’s even a stunning church!? The newly opened Twin Towers at Showtime Plaza in front of Taichung Station in East District debuted in early March. In addition to an exclusive, brand-new concept arts and culture salon space, there’s also a pure white building on the rooftop that looks just like a church. Its minimalist design exudes an exotic charm, unexpectedly making it a popular photo spot.

According to Showtime, the all-white building that’s attracting so many photographers is actually a multi-functional space designed to look like a church. It’s planned to be used for exhibitions or rented out to the public, with full access expected in the first half of the year. Since the building is located on the open rooftop, although it’s not yet open to the public, visitors can still take photos from the outside.

The newly opened Showtime Plaza Twin Towers has four floors, featuring Japanese-style pharmacies, sports brands, and cinemas. The second floor includes Petite etude, a small library that combines books, coffee, and a variety of creative lifestyle and handmade brands, allowing visitors to enjoy coffee while immersing themselves in a world of literature.

Centered around the homophonic concept of “art” as “艺庶” (yi shu), Showtime Plaza in front of Taichung Station combines entertainment with public art, making art no longer exclusive to a select few. Whether indoors or outdoors, you’ll find playful installations and artistic performances everywhere. It’s a new entertainment hotspot in Taichung’s East District.
