Want to get out during the New Year holiday? Head to the flower fields for some peace and quiet. Changhua County’s Huatan Township has long been a popular flower-viewing destination. In addition to the sunflower fields near the famous Sanchun Old Tree scenic spot, this winter also features a sea of cosmos flowers. The blossoms are in full bloom, with romantic pink waves stretching across 2.25 hectares—just being in this sea of flowers will lift your mood!

The Sanchun Old Tree in Changhua is a must-visit photo spot for many. In the past, it often showcased various cute, painted rice field art that delighted visitors. This winter, the cosmos flower fields are in full bloom, with purple, yellow, white, and red cosmos flowers stretching as far as the eye can see, set against a backdrop of blue skies and white clouds—perfect for romantic photos. Best of all, this stunning flower sea is completely free to visit.

To attract more visitors to the flower fields, the township office planted tens of thousands of cosmos flowers in front of the painted wall. From above, the vast expanse of cosmos flowers looks like a colorful floral carpet. There are also giant photo frames and heart-shaped frames on-site for visitors to take group photos. If you don’t want to spend money going out to enjoy flowers over the New Year weekend, this is a delightful option. The cosmos flowering period is expected to last two to three weeks, so be sure to plan your visit during the best blooming time.
