Spring Festival Off-the-Beaten-Path Attraction #1 / Stunning Scenery Like a Car Commercial – “Little Wuling” at Jiufen’s Back Mountain!

With the Spring Festival holiday lasting nine days, where’s the best place to go? Located on the back mountain of Jiufen, “Little Wuling” is exceptionally tranquil and pleasant compared to the always bustling Jiufen. Most visitors only tour Jiufen once and then leave in a hurry. Situated at the highest point of County Highway 102, Little Wuling lies at the mountain pass where two ranges meet. With the rustling wind, swaying silver grass, undulating mountain ridges, and a romantic S-shaped road, it creates a breathtaking landscape.

From atop “Little Wuling,” you can gaze into the distance at the cat village of Hou Dong’s railway, as well as Keelung Islet and Badouzi, all spread out before you. Without any effort, you can take in the magnificent seascape and sky meeting in one view. Rou Lu suggests that visitors during the Spring Festival bring along a cup of coffee or a pot of tea with their families, and after ascending Little Wuling, head to the nearby “Unwearying Pavilion.” Known as a hidden gem for motorcyclists and cyclists, Unwearying Pavilion sometimes offers views of sea of clouds drifting over sunlit mountaintops, creating a scene like a fairyland.
