International Museum Day 2024: Free Entry to the National Palace Museum Main Building & Southern Branch on These 3 Days in May

May 18 is International Museum Day. The National Palace Museum recently announced free admission on that day. Additionally, on May 13 and 14, citizens can visit exhibitions at both the Northern and Southern Branches of the museum free of charge upon presenting valid ID.

The museum stated that from now until June 24, a total of 20 fun activities have been planned. The Northern Branch will focus on the theme “Secrets of the Museum,” hosting two film screenings each day on May 18 and 19, along with events such as “Qing Dynasty Nobles Take You Camping: DIY Tibetan Butter Tea & Tibetan/Mongolian Costume Experience” and “Great Art, Little Detectives – Volunteer Parents Tell Stories.”

The Southern Branch will also launch a brain-teasing real-life game titled “National Treasure Detective Decryption Challenge,” themed around “Deep Court Secrets: Tales from the Southern Branch,” breaking away from the static stereotype of museums.
