Taipei’s New Year countdown isn’t just about watching the Taipei 101 fireworks—you can also "enjoy the snow" here too. To create a unique countdown atmosphere, Mandarin Boutique in Taipei has installed snow machines on high points of both the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and the Mandarin Boutique building. From today (the 29th) until New Year’s Eve on the 31st, snow will be produced from the machines at 6 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM every evening, falling onto the European-style outdoor plaza of Mandarin Boutique. This creates a romantic winter snow scene reminiscent of a European city.

Alongside the artificial snowfall, Mandarin Boutique has partnered with Mandarin Oriental Hotel to host the "Shimmering Silver & White New Year’s Eve Market" in the first-floor open-air plaza from the 29th to the 31st. Three in-house restaurants—Mandarin Pastry, Cafe de LUGANO, and Thai & Thai—will set up mobile food trucks to sell festive specialties. Additionally, on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, from 7:30 PM to midnight, there will be live DJ performances. Guests can enjoy European holiday snacks while immersed in music, lights, and snow—a truly romantic way to ring in the new year.

The outdoor plaza of Mandarin Boutique features a café area with colorful umbrellas, imported European rattan chairs, and greenery, all surrounded by the castle-like European medieval architecture of Mandarin Boutique and Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It’s been dubbed “the most European corner in Taipei.” During the Christmas season, it already attracted many visitors for photos, and now with the added snow effect, it’s expected to draw even more influencers and fashionistas looking to capture “Taipei’s first snowfall of the year”!

Mandarin Pastry, Cafe de LUGANO, and Thai & Thai will operate from 5 PM to 9 PM on the 29th and 30th, and open earlier at 11 AM on New Year’s Eve, the 31st. Those planning to “enjoy the snow and countdown” should keep an eye on the relevant details.
