Even furry kids need to stretch their legs too!: 6 Must-Visit Pet Parks in Taipei and New Taipei

Weekend getaways aren’t just for people tired from work or school—our furry companions at home are also eager to go out, breathe some fresh air, and have fun playing. To create a more pet-friendly environment, Taipei City and New Taipei City have built and renovated numerous pet parks in recent years. Not only are they all free of charge, but the spaces have also become more comfortable. If you have pets at home, these pet parks will definitely let them have a blast.

1. Yingfeng Dog Sports Park
Yingfeng Dog Sports Park is located near Tayou Road in Yingfeng Riverside Park, covering about one hectare. It is Taiwan’s first dog sports park. Every holiday, it attracts many families with pets who come here to have fun together, and it’s also a popular spot for dog lovers to host gatherings. According to regulations, leashes are required when walking dogs in regular parks, but if you want your furry friend to run and roll freely on urban grass, Yingfeng Dog Sports Park is the best choice.

2. Sanchong Pet Park
Sanchong Pet Park is located beside the Longmen Overpass along the Tamsui River in Sanchong District, near an off-ramp parking lot, making it easily accessible. It offers a large shaded area so even on sunny days, pets won’t suffer from heatstroke, and there’s plenty of space for them to run around.

3. Fuzhou Bridge Pet Park
Located next to Fuzhou Bridge on the right bank of the Dahan River in Banqiao, adjacent to the Fuzhou Sheep Area, this is a rare interactive pet zone in the greater Taipei metropolitan area. It features a large grassy area where dogs can run and jump freely, enjoying the unrestrained feeling of being off-leash.

4. Xindian Family Pet Park
Xindian Family Pet Park is the earliest established pet park in New Taipei City, but due to unclear signage, not many people know about it. After renovation, the environment and facilities have been improved, and the space is quite spacious.

5. Yonghe Emerald Pet Park
Opened in 2013, Yonghe Emerald Pet Park has a vast area with well-maintained lawns and various pet play facilities where furry friends can have fun. There are also plenty of shaded trees, making it a well-rounded pet park in every aspect.

6. Ersheng Flood Diversion Channel Luti Pet Park
Covering 5,200 square meters, Luti Pet Park offers ample space for pets to roam. The park is divided into a large dog area and a small dog area, with different play equipment tailored for dogs of varying sizes, allowing owners to let their pets play safely.

> Set your location to “Ludi No. 1 Overpass”. After crossing the top of the embankment road, you’ll see it.
> Set your location to “No. 1, Lane 347, Chang’an Street, Luzhou District, Taipei City”. The riverbank staircase is located at the intersection of Lane 347, Chang’an Street, and the top of the embankment road. After crossing the embankment road, you’ll arrive there.
