In response to Earth Day, Yunlong Group’s 11 hotels to turn off lights for one hour on the 23rd

March 23 is Earth Day, and five major brands under Yunlang Tourism Group — operating 11 hotels across Taiwan — will jointly participate in the “Earth Day: Yunlang Lights Off for One Hour” campaign. The Regent Taipei, Silks Club Hotels (Xinzhuang, Taoyuan, Hualien, Kaohsiung), Harmony Hotels (Miaoli, Taichung, Chiayi), and CTBC Hotel System (Zhongli Hotel, Zhongzheng Business Hotel in Xindian) will collectively turn off the exterior lighting of their hotels from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Earth Day as a practical gesture to promote energy conservation and care for the planet.

The “Earth Hour @TW Earth Hour” lights-out campaign, initiated by the Society of Wilderness on Earth Day, has entered its fourth year. The association states that turning off the lights for one hour doesn’t just mean reducing carbon emissions for that hour—it is also an opportunity to promote low-carbon lifestyle education and raise awareness about the relationship between humans and the environment, encouraging people not to waste excessively. In support of this philosophy, Yunlong Tourism Group is fully participating in the one-hour lights-out initiative.

Sheng Zhiren, General Manager of Yunlong Tourism Group, said that on the day of the event, the group will also post notices inside hotel lobbies to inform guests about the “Earth Day – Yunlong One-Hour Lights Out” campaign, and encourage hotel guests to take part in this meaningful activity. During this one hour, they are urged to turn off unnecessary indoor lighting or electrical appliances, step outside, and enjoy a night free of carbon emissions. The group also hopes this philosophy can be integrated into daily life going forward, helping the Earth reduce carbon emissions continuously.
