The star-rated hotel certification program, promoted by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, held its 9th award ceremony on the 27th, with 100 hotels receiving star ratings, setting a new record high. As of this round, a total of 376 hotels have become star-rated, with a total of 40,246 rooms, demonstrating the high importance hotel operators place on star-rated certification.

The Tourism Bureau stated that general hotels made a strong showing this time, with as many as 99 receiving ratings, indicating that hotel operators generally recognize the importance of the star brand. Whether it's a one-star hotel targeting backpackers or a three-star hotel aiming to capture the business traveler market, a star rating gives consumers peace of mind and also serves as a guarantee of business potential. Particularly noteworthy is that 10 hotels on this list underwent their second evaluation, and after mobilizing all staff to strengthen hotel operations and management, they successfully achieved higher star ratings (for example, the Young Lion Hotel was upgraded from one star to two stars, Yonghua Chun Leisure Business Motel jumped from one star to three stars, and the Hanbi Garden Hotel and Golden Coast Business Hotel were both upgraded from two stars to three stars).

The Tourism Bureau also noted that through the certification system, it helps hotels establish their own market positioning and target customer segments, improving the service quality of Taiwan’s hotels and ensuring a positive impression for both domestic and international travelers.

Additionally, as the trial run of high-quality tour groups from mainland China began in mid-April and is expected to be officially implemented on May 1st, star-rated hotels will also be a key focus of marketing for these quality tour groups. Mainland Chinese tourists to Taiwan often choose star-rated hotels, and the notion that "as long as there's a star, it's a good hotel" is widely held. Therefore, Taiwanese hotels aiming to capture the accommodation business of mainland Chinese tourists all require the recognition of star-rated certification.
