Tigerair Singapore increases flights & offers free one-way ticket with round-trip purchase

Future travelers between Taiwan and Southeast Asia will soon enjoy more flexible schedules. Singapore low-cost carrier Tiger Airways, eyeing the growing travel market between Taiwan and Singapore, will increase its weekly flights from nine to eleven starting June. The airline is also offering over 5,000 promotional seats with a special deal: buy a round-trip ticket and get the one-way leg for free, instantly saving passengers NT$3,114.

In recent years, Taipei has become a popular travel destination for Singaporean visitors, while the number of travelers and businesspeople flying from Taiwan to Singapore has also risen. These trends signal positive growth for Tigerair, indicating increasing demand for both outbound and inbound flights between the two cities. Starting June 2013, Tigerair will boost its flight frequency from nine to eleven weekly services.

Ho Yen Sheng, General Manager of Tigerair Singapore, said: “Both Taipei and Singapore are vibrant cities ideal for both work and play, just a short four-hour flight apart. The passenger volume growth over the past three years has led us to increase our flight frequency, providing travelers with more flexible and convenient service options.”

In addition to increasing flights, Tigerair has also launched “tigerconnect,” streamlining the process of booking connecting flights. With a simple booking procedure, passengers can enjoy seamless transit at Changi Airport without going through immigration or collecting luggage. Another value-added service, tigerPLUS, offers premium passengers access to dedicated check-in counters and allows them to relax and enjoy gourmet meals in the SATS Premium Lounge at Terminal 2 of Changi Airport, along with priority boarding.

To celebrate three successful years of flying to Taiwan, Tigerair is launching the “Three Years of Success, Fly Free!” promotion, offering over 5,000 discounted seats. Passengers who purchase a round-trip ticket from Taipei to Singapore will receive a complimentary one-way ticket courtesy of Tigerair. The promotion runs from April 18, 2013 to April 24, 2013, with travel valid from July 1, 2013 to November 30, 2013. Fares are exclusive of taxes and other fees.
