Airlines launch signature in-flight meals: Braised pork rice, pumpkin vermicelli, and more

Tired of bland airline food every time you fly? Taipei International Airport (Songshan) aimed to change that perception by hosting the “Airlines’ Signature In-Flight Meals Collection” event yesterday (18th). Domestic airlines and catering companies were invited to showcase their popular in-flight meal offerings. The event featured dishes such as pumpkin vermicelli, a 3x3 grid Kitty adult meal and kids' meal, as well as sausage fried rice, boletus mushroom soup, and even the very down-to-earth five-spice braised pork rice.

Showcasing uniquely themed in-flight meals, China Airlines partnered with Taipei W Hotel to serve the restaurant’s signature “pumpkin vermicelli,” paired with a popular beverage, and even incorporated Tainan Dongshan coffee into the dish, creating the creative “Dongshan Coffee Chicken.” EVA Air highlighted its iconic Hello Kitty livery aircraft with a Kitty-themed menu—pan-seared scallops with olive tapenade served as a Western dish, accompanied by a Kitty-designed kids' meal box, with both food and tableware featuring Kitty prints. Far Eastern Air selected the local favorite snack “five-spice braised pork rice”; while Revival Airlines focused on French cuisine, featuring business class meals such as boletus mushroom soup, French duck liver custard, and lava chocolate.
