The "Golden Route" between Gimpo and Songshan airports celebrates one year since launch—700,000 cash giveaways every week!

Today (April 30) marks exactly one year since the official launch of flights between Seoul Gimpo and Taipei Songshan airports. This achievement has enhanced the convenience of air travel between the four major cities in the "Northeast Asia Golden Aviation Circle" and further strengthened the aerial bridge between Taiwan and South Korea. The Korea Tourism Organization is celebrating the first anniversary of the route's operation today.

Dubbed the "Golden Route" by Korean pop culture fans, the Gimpo–Songshan route offers the advantage of being located within the capital region, saving approximately two hours per trip. Its strategic location and convenient connections make it an excellent choice for travelers from both Korea and Taiwan seeking tourism, shopping, business, trade, and cultural exchange opportunities.

Shim Jung-bo, Director General of the Korea Tourism Organization, said: "Last month, the situation involving North Korea had some impact on the number of tourists visiting Korea, but we hope that through this special event to attract Taiwanese visitors, the Korean tourism market can quickly recover." In fact, on November 21, 2012, the number of foreign visitors to Korea surpassed the 10 million mark for the first time; meanwhile, the number of Taiwanese tourists visiting Korea also reached a new high of 548,233, surpassing 500,000 for the first time.

Currently, four airlines—China Airlines, EVA Air, TransAsia Airways, and Eastar Jet—provide flight services on the Seoul Gimpo–Taipei Songshan route, offering an average of more than 18,000 seats per month, making the air network between Taiwan and Korea even more extensive.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the Seoul Gimpo–Taipei Songshan route, the Korea Tourism Organization, in collaboration with three Korean companies (Lotte World, Jeong Kwan Jang, and Haru), eight airlines (China Airlines [Kaohsiung Mandarin Airlines], EVA Air, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, TransAsia Airways, Eastar Jet, and T'way Air), and seventeen travel agencies, has jointly launched the "Go to Korea and Get Cash—700,000 Weekly Giveaways" gratitude and rewards campaign. All Taiwanese passport holders who sign up for a Korean group tour with a participating travel agency between April 30 and June 30, 2013, and travel on any of the eight sponsoring airlines, are eligible to enter the lucky draw if their receipt totals 15,000 Korean won or more (tax included) per person.

There are three levels of lucky draws. The "First Level—Go Get Cash" includes over a hundred cash prizes in Korean won, with the most attractive beinga guaranteed weekly draw for a 700,000 KRW (Korean won) spending allowance winner.The "Second Level—Good Deals" includes prizes such as airline tickets, Jeong Kwan Jang products, and Korean beauty face masks. The "Third Level—Thank You Gifts" features traditional Korean name card wooden boxes, fans, exquisite mugs, and USB drives, among others. The campaign offers a total of more than 300 great prizes.
