Travel Exhibition / Cool Race Car on Site Draws Crowd for Photos

This year’s summer travel exhibition, the “2013 Taipei International Tourism Expo,” featured something eye-catching: a race car parked in front of a red curtain, with race car videos playing nearby. Crowds rushed to take photos with the “cool race car,” which actually has an interesting backstory.

The sports car quietly parked at the exhibition is actually the “PORSCHE 997,” which participated in the Macau “Grand Prix” in 2006, winning third place and the annual points championship. This year also marks the 60th edition of the event, and the Macau Tourism Bureau has set up a special themed exhibition area at the event to let visitors experience Macau’s festive highlight.

Taiwan’s China Airlines is the only airline from Taiwan that has participated in the Macau Grand Prix. This year, the 2006 champion PORSCHE 997 race car made a special appearance at the exhibition, accompanied by light and sound effects and dynamic displays, allowing visitors to feel the speed of the race firsthand. The exhibition site also features race queen dance performances and interactive quiz games, with winners eligible to receive original Porsche gifts such as chess sets or posters. Visitors who purchase China Airlines’ Macau travel package products on-site at the Macau Tourism Bureau booth can take advantage of daily flights operated by China Airlines from Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung to and from Macau. There are three daily flights from Taoyuan to Macau, two from Kaohsiung to Macau, and three weekly flights from Taichung to Macau.

This year also marks the 62nd anniversary of China Airlines. The airline has launched the “New Members, I Love You 520 Mileage Reward Campaign.” From now until June 19, new members who join and activate their China Airlines DragonPass membership will receive a free reward of 520 mileage points. China Airlines DragonPass members who accumulate 2,000 miles can redeem a free single-use “International Airport Lounge Pass” (for Songshan / Taoyuan / Kaohsiung airports); those who accumulate 6,000 miles can redeem one free one-way ticket for a “domestic scheduled route.”

Members who accumulate 10,000 miles can redeem one free round-trip ticket for a “domestic scheduled route” or one one-way business class upgrade voucher for cross-strait direct flights and international scheduled routes (Bangkok, Singapore, cross-strait direct flights, Japan, Macau, Busan, Jeju). Those who accumulate 35,000 miles can redeem one free round-trip economy class ticket for cross-strait direct flights and international scheduled routes (same as above).
