2013 Tainan Golden Rain Tree Flower Festival Kicks Off, Golden Blossoms Paint Huangtoupi Yellow

As the early summer season of golden rain tree blooms arrives, the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau is hosting the “2013 Tainan Golden Rain Tree Flower Festival” from June 8 to June 23 at the Xinhua Huangtoupi Scenic Area. The city government has also launched a series of activities, including a golden rain tree flower photography contest, check-in rewards, cricket fighting tournaments, water recreation experiences, and specialty industry markets, aiming to attract more visitors to the historic city to enjoy the floral spectacle.

While Miaoli has its tung blossom festival and Alishan is known for its cherry blossoms, Tainan City has in recent years been vigorously promoting the golden rain tree flower festival, inviting the public to visit the Huangtoupi Scenic Area to admire the beautiful golden rain of blossoms. Officials from the tourism bureau stated that the flower viewing area has not yet reached full bloom, but it is expected to be in full splendor when the event kicks off on June 8. The flower season will last approximately two weeks, and visitors are advised to plan their trip accordingly.

In addition to flower viewing, the organizers have also combined the unique natural ecology of the Huangtoupi Scenic Area to offer completely free canoeing and windsurfing water recreation experiences. Ticket holders can also participate in cricket fighting tournaments at 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays during the event period.

Furthermore, in line with the current trend of “checking in,” visitors who check in at the Huangtoupi Scenic Area during the event and show their records at the information desk will receive a limited-edition small gift. Organizers also noted that besides enjoying the blooming golden rain trees, visitors can also listen to wonderful music, as a music feast event will be held every Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM during the event period.
