Tourism Center / Comprehensive Report
After a six-year hiatus, the Yilan National Center for Traditional Arts has reopened for night visits once again. From June 29 to August 31, the center is hosting the 2013 Summer Festival event series “Tradition 66 Nights.” On the opening day, June 29, performances will run from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., featuring a “day into night” relay of acts including singer Yin Zhengyang, performance troupes like TF2, Magic Fire Dance, 3D Blitz, indigenous vocal groups, and Czech puppet theater.
During the extended evening operating hours, the center has invited Delta Electronics to create a dazzling night scene using specially designed LED lights. The riverside Linshui Street, adjacent to the Dongshan River, is complemented by colorful LED reflections on the water’s surface, along with small vendors in a “night market street” and vintage-style parade floats. The small bridges and flowing waters recreate the bustling atmosphere reminiscent of the painting “Along the River During the Qingming Festival.”

Starting June 29, for nine consecutive Saturday nights, the center will present a series of “Theme Nights,” including a meticulously designed opening gala on the water that will blend Yin Zhengyang’s classical vocals to depict a heavenly and earthly scenery. Weekly events include “Original Vocal Night,” “International Exchange Night,” “Nostalgic Ballads Night,” “Rock Night,” and “Golden Melody Night.”
The “Tradition 66 Nights” series extends daily operating hours until 9:00 p.m., and the center is also offering a special “Nighttime Couple Ticket” at a discounted price of NT$120. Tickets can be purchased from June 3 to 16 via the “ibon ticketing system.”
