Kaohsiung’s new attraction “BaoLai Hot Spring Park” was officially launched yesterday (the 23rd)! It is currently free to experience, but the foot bath service is expected to start charging fees from January 1st next year. The future pricing is projected to be NT$50 for a full ticket and NT$25 for a half ticket, with residents of Liouguei District, those under 6 years old (excluding), and those 65 years old and above (including) being exempt from fees. Travelers can admire the famous plum blossoms of Liouguei while soaking their hands and feet, enjoying a Christmas and holiday season atmosphere that's different from previous years.

On the 23rd, “BaoLai Hot Spring Park” hosted a Christmas carnival evening event. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu led hundreds of tourists in lighting sky lanterns and sending blessings into the sky, while also announcing the official opening of BaoLai Flower-Viewing Hot Spring Park. Chen Chu said that to revive BaoLai’s renowned hot springs, the park has specially created hand and foot bath areas. In the future, continued cooperation with central government agencies will help build this romantic hot spring and flower viewing destination in the mountainous area behind Kaohsiung — a place of ever-changing scenery throughout all four seasons — with hopes of boosting local tourism development and ecological sustainability.
Since the devastating impact of Typhoon Morakot on BaoLai in 2009, the area finally succeeded in drilling into an abundant water source late last year. After reconstruction, the new highlight of Liouguei tourism — “BaoLai Flower-Viewing Hot Spring Park” — has been created, offering the public one more great leisure spot. In addition, efforts will be made in the future to improve surrounding roads, accessibility, and landscaping, further elevating the tourism quality of both Liouguei and BaoLai.
