Taiwan’s First Italian Buffet Opens – 20 Types of Pasta to Dazzle the Eyes

Taiwan’s first Italian cuisine buffet restaurant has opened. Located on the second floor of Just Sleep Taipei Daan, in the bustling Gongguan commercial area of Taipei City, “Just Italian Buffet (Just Italian),” is currently the only buffet restaurant in the market themed around Italian cuisine, marking another new addition to Taipei’s dining scene. Just Italian Buffet centers its dining concept around “Pizza 'Pasta 'Fun.” For a fixed price per person, guests can enjoy unlimited orders of freshly made handmade pizza and indulge in the Italian pasta bar that offers 20 types of pasta, 8 sauces, and 28 toppings.

With an investment of NT$25 million and over half a year of preparation, Just Italian Buffet covers 160 ping (approximately 528 square meters) and accommodates nearly 180 seats, including two private rooms that can each host 15 people. The design was helmed by renowned interior designer Ye Yu-ching, known for his work with both domestic and international restaurants and boutique hotels, who created a uniquely relaxing “exotic” atmosphere. As you enter, you’ll see ceiling-hung book-shaped light fixtures and a bright, high-ceilinged space with 180-degree glass views. In addition to creating a sense of visual openness, the warm sunlight streaming in adds a uniquely leisurely Southern Italian vibe to the restaurant.

Upholding the philosophy of co-prosperity with the local community, the interior décor also draws inspiration from a simple and elegant academic ambiance. It features vintage handcrafted wooden tables and chairs imported from India, lamp-shaped light fixtures, and hand-painted blackboard menus, all contributing to a rich academic-style dining environment. In addition, the restaurant incorporates industrial design elements, from stainless steel self-service stations to nostalgic-style decor.

The buffet stations at Just Italian Buffet offer dozens of refined Italian dishes and fruit desserts. There is a pasta section with 20 pasta choices, 8 chef-selected sauces, and up to 28 fresh toppings including seafood, meat, and vegetables. Other sections include a classic hot food area, a pastry and dessert zone, a fresh fruit station with seasonal fruits, a beverage bar, and a premium ice cream section. Additionally, diners visiting during weekends can exclusively enjoy freshly sliced Italian herb-marinated grilled steak seasoned with black pepper and various Italian spices. Embracing the relaxed Italian vibe, Just Italian Buffet also takes “Sharing” as its core concept, offering freshly baked pizzas. The specially made handmade pizzas are freshly prepared by chefs after customers choose their preferred flavors.
