Want to experience what it’s like to fly a plane or be a flight attendant? Domestic aviation companies have launched an “Aviation Experience Camp for Cabin Crew and Pilots” in response to summer vacation, offering a three-day, two-night program across six sessions. The cabin crew experience has 144 spots available, while the pilot camp only admits 48 participants. Anyone aged 18 to 28 with an interest in the aviation industry can sign up. Online registration opens at 1 PM on June 24.

The three-day, two-night cabin crew experience camp costs NT$19,000 per session, with 24 participants per group—mirroring the exact class size of real cabin crew training. Delivered in small classes, the professional curriculum is designed by the China Airlines cabin crew instructor team. Courses include popular offerings such as poise and etiquette, image building, and interview skills. This year, for the first time, there will also be first-class service training and water emergency drills, giving participants a full understanding of the high-end service procedures and on-the-spot adaptability required of cabin crew. Through role-playing, participants will gain an in-depth insight into the rigorous training and professionalism behind the friendly smiles of cabin crew.

The pilot experience camp also features a synchronized three-day, two-night course priced at NT$45,000, with only 8 spots per session. Designed by a team of active China Airlines pilots, the curriculum includes ground school subjects, basic flying, and professional skills, offering a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the life of a pilot and the expertise needed to become a qualified aviator. This year, the pilot experience camp will also run water emergency training sessions in sync with the cabin crew camp, helping participants better understand the teamwork and coordination between flight attendants and pilots.

The 2013 cabin crew and pilot aviation experience camp also includes a tour of the China Airlines campus and maintenance factory, allowing participants to witness the intricate and intensive preparation work and strict safety standards observed by all departments before each flight. Participants will stay at the five-star Novotel Taipei Taoyuan China Airlines Hotel. This year, the program has also added a cocktail party and international social etiquette course. Guests can enjoy a rare close-up view of airplanes taking off and landing on the airport runway from the hotel.
