Be classmates with Mike and Sulley at Hong Kong Disneyland’s Monsters University enrollment!

The animated movie Monsters University, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, has been a huge hit even before its release—and now it's recruiting students at Hong Kong Disneyland too. From June 13 to September 1, the park’s “Monsters University” area is officially enrolling top “monsters,” where visitors can go to the newly opened Monsters University administrative building to complete enrollment procedures, create their own student ID, take photos with Mike and Sulley, and finally receive a graduation certificate from Monsters University!

Hong Kong Disneyland is hosting a special Monsters University-themed event, allowing visitors to experience campus life as Mike and Sulley. If you're lucky, you might even spot the scare duo outside the building—don't forget to grab a photo with them. Step into the administrative building and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into the movie: columns are lined with group photos of students, there’s a statue of the university president in the corner, and on one bulletin board, someone has lost their eyeball draft and posted a lost-and-found notice!

Throughout the building, various bulletin boards display quirky notices: monsters who’ve lost their eyeballs, others looking for study partners to read poetry instead of scaring all day, and even scarier—some monsters have lost their heads too. Around the corner, you’ll find life-sized Mike and Sulley mascots: Sulley in a baseball jacket and Mike wearing braces—they look incredibly lifelike. Visitors can take as many photos as they want, and there's even a convenient photo service provided by staff.

Becoming a member of the Scare School requires no exams—just insert your park ticket into the card reader at the Monsters University student ID photo booth for two photo opportunities. The weirder your expression, the better. After taking your ID photo, head to the nearby Main Street USA Photo Shop to choose your favorite design from four different student ID styles. For just HK$40 (approx. NT$160), you can get your personalized Monsters University student ID on the spot. Plus, by logging into the Hong Kong Disneyland official website with the student number on your ID, you can download your exclusive graduation certificate.

The Monsters University experience doesn’t stop there. You can also join art workshops in the Animation Art Classroom and create your very own Mike or Sulley—the characters loved by both kids and adults. You can also head to Disney Hollywood Hotel to attend a Monsters University cooking class. Everyone gets to wear monster-themed chef hats and aprons and show off their creativity by decorating monster cupcake designs, and even draw their own monster patterns on plates. In the end, you’ll receive a “Master Chef” certificate. One course costs HK$898 (approx. NT$3,600) per adult, HK$1,098 (approx. NT$4,400) for one adult and one child, and HK$1,698 (approx. NT$7,200) for one adult with two children.

If you’d rather not make your own creations, Hong Kong Disneyland offers 15 specially designed monster-themed snacks and summer drinks, available at 12 restaurants across the park and two themed hotels—including shiny Mike cotton candy, adorably designed Mike Chicken Buns, and a variety of magical specialty drinks. At Main Street USA, you can find a range of Monsters University merchandise, including a limited-edition welcome kit that comes with a Monsters University lunch box, a Sulley-themed coaster, a lanyard, and an ID holder. The whole set, including the student ID, is only HK$238 (approx. NT$960)—become a true Monsters University freshman today.
