【Dogs Go Traveling】Sled Dog’s Two-Year Adventure Touring the Americas

If you’ve ever owned a dog, you’ll understand the helplessness of wanting to go out but ultimately not feeling at ease leaving your pup in someone else’s care. Even when traveling, you’d probably only choose trips of just a few days, short excursions. Or you could takethe United Statesillustrator John Stortz’s experience of traveling for two years with his adopted sled dog Wolfgang.

Putting down his paintbrush and picking up a camera, this man and his dog traveled all overthe United States, visiting major attractions. Wolfgang acted like a model, knowing how to strike poses and expressions — such as gazing at distant towns and mountain landscapes, sitting in the middle of a highway, crossing lakes, or standing on a ridge. From the loneliest road in North America to theGrand Canyonin Colorado, and then to the Great Salt Lake in Utah, he’s seen more than most dogs.

John Stortz uploads his photos to his Instagram , which has now amassed over 50,000 followers. Who knows if his next stop might cross the ocean to Hong Kong?
