As summer heats up, there's nothing better than hanging out with friends or colleagues for a BBQ and water fun on a Saturday day trip, then sleeping in the next day. In Taipei’s Sanxia District, there’s a fantastic spot for an outdoor getaway called “Queenstown Forest.” Here, you can enjoy water activities, have a barbecue, dine at restaurants, or relax in a café — perfect for group outings or a romantic date spot!

Queenstown Forest is situated at the boundary between Sanxia and Tucheng. As it's located in a mountainous area, there are also nearby streams where you can take a dip. While the park itself isn’t as large as some well-known tourist attractions, it features a swimming pool, restaurants, cafés, souvenir shops, BBQ areas, a cute animal zone, and camping sites. For the most budget-friendly and fun experience, consider organizing a “BBQ gathering” with classmates, colleagues, or close friends. Then head to the mountains for some water play, followed by a visit to Sanxia Old Street for some tofu pudding and croissants, and finish the day with a night view of Yangmingshan Mountain for a perfect ending.
