From the Future: Paris’s Floating Forest Village

Paris is widely known as the fashion capital of the world, but surprisingly, even its architectural design is at the forefront of trends. In the urban development district of the 17th arrondissement, Paris is set to unveil a “Floating Village in a Forest.”
Designed jointly by French and Japanese architects, this “village” will feature 1,000 trees, giving it the appearance of a floating forest when viewed from afar. In addition, the village will include a four-star hotel with 250 rooms, 127 residential units and offices, along with an eco-friendly park.
To accommodate residents, there will be a food street and double-decker buses. The project is set to launch within two years, with completion expected in 2021 or 2022.
