A smartphone changes global habits—everyone would rather be a phone-addict scrolling through Facebook,NetherlandsAirlines (KLM) saw the timing was right for a crossover, teaming up with Facebook Messenger, a feature originally just for chatting, to bravely introduce a new service: KLM on Messenger. Passengers can now use it to check in, receive their boarding passes, and get updates on their latest flight status.
As the first airline in the industry to come up with this idea, it's truly groundbreaking and convenient. Customers who book tickets on KLM.com can simply click the option to receive flight information via Messenger when filling out their personal details. After confirming their booking, they will receive flight details through Messenger.

On the day of departure, they will also receive a check-in reminder. After completing the boarding procedures on their phone, they will receive a QR code boarding pass. If there are any changes to the flight, KLM can instantly notify passengers via Messenger.
CurrentlyNetherlandsAirlines' Facebook page has over 10 million followers, so using Messenger for real-time communication serves many passengers well. This way, passengers don’t need to download an extra app, and it greatly enhances interactivity.
