Taipei ─ Café de Lugano, an Italian-French café

Created by Mandarin Premium, the most charming “Café de Lugano” is named after the Swiss town of Lugano. With a South European leisurely vibe in its outdoor courtyard, and an interior that blends European luxury with a modern touch, it offers a delightful “culinary escape.” The menu reinterprets classic French-Italian dishes using French techniques and locally sourced Taiwanese ingredients.

Its LUGANO Scottish egg breaks from tradition with wonton wrappers instead of breadcrumbs. Sliced open, the yolk flows out, creating a stunning visual impact. Another standout is the cocktail “Smoked Girl’s Heart,” served inside a pineapple — the smoky aroma hits you as soon as it’s opened, making it a feast for both the eyes and nose.

Only in soft-launch since September, “Uni Cone” has already become a hot topic on IG. Open just three days a week and selling only 50 cones per day, the shop boldly uses unicorn, mermaid, princess party, and robot designs — what you hold in your hand looks like both ice cream and a playful, eye-catching ornament.

The shop specializes in adorable fondant elements. In addition to the regular flavors with fixed fondant toppings, you can also add more colorful bits or customize your own unique ice cream. For those unsure how to choose, there are pre-designed styles to refer to. Since the ice cream contains no chemical additives, it melts quickly — so grab yours while it lasts.

Taichung ─ Taste’dream Handmade Bakery

If fondant is about turning sugar into various objects, then mirror glaze is all about using sugar to create dessert artworks that blur the line between reality and illusion. “Taste’dream Handmade Bakery,” which focuses on mirror-glazed mini cakes, may be small in size but features cute planets and little snow huts. Most of the ingredients are imported, reflecting the owner’s dedication to quality.

In addition to mirror-glazed cakes, there's also the “Snow Love” cake, resembling a snow hut. It represents a quaint snow house with a warm yellow passionfruit core inside, symbolizing coziness, along with a black chocolate mousse like a bit of soil — it feels like an Eskimo might step out any moment. So exquisitely crafted, it’s almost too beautiful to eat.
Shop Address: No. 104, Lane 250, Xuefu Rd., Daya Dist., Taichung City

Taichung ─ Cultivators Have Their Sweet

Tiny hills and pots of adorable succulents — this isn’t clay art or mere decor, but rather a must-visit spot for dessert lovers known as “Cultivators Have Their Sweet.” Just three months after opening, it’s become a favorite among sweet tooths. The mastermind behind it all is the shop owner. Playing on the phrase “farmers have their fields” (耕者有其田), the name is humorously adapted to “farmers have their sweets” (耕者有其甜). The signature hill-shaped dessert is inspired by the Central Mountain Range — marshmallows coated in matcha mousse and chocolate representing the earth. The owner laughs that while these playful treats were originally meant to attract kids, they’ve unexpectedly become comforting desserts for adults too.

Kaohsiung ─ Xiaoyin Liangcha (Little Drink Herbal Tea)

Taiwanese people are obsessed with bubble tea, whether it's through inventive flavors or a wide variety of toppings—even creating square pearls. Now, Xiao Yin Liang Cha (Little Drink Cool Tea) has turned their creativity to the "cup"—well, not quite a cup, but a "bag." Instead of the usual cup, they serve their drinks in a tote bag. While not everyone may get the chance to try this novelty, the creative concept has generated plenty of buzz.

The milk tea comes in three base options: oolong, Ceylon, and classic black tea. The clear milk tea series uses non-dairy creamer, but the ratio is just right, balancing tea aroma and creamy flavor in the mouth. Paired with chewy, elastic pearls, it has become a fan favorite. There’s also a series with love jade (yukewei), which is generously added—giving drinkers a pleasantly filling experience.
Address: No. 276, Chenggong 1st Rd., Kaohsiung City (near Xintian Intersection)
Hours: 10:00–20:30
Whether it's drinks, snacks, or meals, which type of visually stunning food wins your heart? Everyone says Taiwan is a food kingdom. To stand out in the culinary world, aside from great taste, it takes ingenuity and creativity to spark popular topics.
