Explore Tainan’s cuisine and historic sites with Taiwan Tourist Shuttle’s 3-day pass for just NT$290

Home to a wealth of delicious food and historic landmarks, Tainan has always been a top choice for travelers seeking an in-depth cultural experience. To provide independent travelers with convenient transportation and tourism services, the Tainan City Government has partnered with the Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan Coast National Scenic Area Administration to integrate three Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes—the “Salt Country Coastal Line,” “88 Anping Line,” and “99 Taijiang Line.” A special 37% discount is being offered on the 3-day travel pass bundle, allowing visitors to explore all corners of Tainan for just NT$290.

In coordination with the Tourism Bureau’s Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “88 Anping Line” and “99 Taijiang Line” sightseeing buses, Tainan City enables travelers arriving by train or high-speed rail to easily visit historic sites, enjoy nature, explore the salt fields, and savor local cuisine using these two bus lines. A one-day pass can also be purchased for just NT$80 via the 7-ELEVEN ibon system. Additionally, starting July 18, there will be three weekly direct flights between Tainan and Hong Kong, further highlighting the importance of meeting independent travelers’ transportation needs.

During the summer vacation period, the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle—Salt Country Coastal Line” not only collaborates specially with the “99 Taijiang Line” and “88 Anping Line,” but also offers the 3-day travel pass bundle at a 37% discount off the original price of NT$790, now available for just NT$290. The “Salt Country Coastal Line” also introduces multiple promotions: visitors who tour famous attractions such as the Chiayi Suantou Sugar Refinery, Puzi Embroidery Cultural Museum, Dongshi Fishermen’s Wharf, Tainan Jingzijiao Tile-plate Salt Fields, Nanxiang Stele Temple, Qigu Salt Mountain, and the Taiwan Salt Museum can participate in an annual lucky draw using their ticket stubs. They can also enjoy free admission to the “Qigu Salt Mountain,” a 20% discount on tickets to the “Taiwan Salt Museum,” and a special rate of NT$65 for tickets to the “Masago Recreation Area.” Moreover, a one-way ride on the “Blue 20 Bus” from Qigu Salt Mountain to Masago Recreation Area costs just NT$10, or NT$20 for a round trip.

To boost the appeal of the Salt Country Coastal Line, the Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan Coast National Scenic Area Administration has launched a year-long series of white-themed tourism events. These include the “One Sight, Two Sculptures Art Festival” extending through the end of August, Chiayi’s “Dongshi Sea Summer Festival,” Tainan’s “Masago Music Festival,” Qigu Salt Mountain’s “Father’s Day Valentine’s Event,” October’s “White Cloud, Chiayi, Tainan International Bird Watching Marathon,” November’s international tourism calendar event “Peaceful Salt Festival,” December’s Beimen “White Christmas” and “Jingzijiao Sunset Send-off,” among others. The goal is to energize the surrounding tourism industries of the Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan region through this series of events.
